Student Instructions
In this unit of work you will analyse yourself performing a discrete physical skill of your choice and provide a summary of your analysis in a written or visual presentation.
You will be assessed on: the extent to which you undertake a critical analysis of the skill; and the quality of your conclusions about which parts of the skill have the greatest impact on performance and the factors that influence your ability to improve the performance of the skill.

Then explain the effect that relevance and purpose has on achievement and enjoyment.
Make a video of yourself performing a sporting or movement skill.
Take the two videos. One from front on, one from side on

Take a video of a professional from youtube doing the same skill. Also upload this into your vidalyze account
Explain what the defines the success of your skill eg. My skill involves using the correct acceleration of an object with a constant mass that can accurately follow a trajectory and accurately arrive at a destination
Explain your skill in relation to Newtons Laws 1 and laws 2.
Law 1 - Inertia - What has inetia? What must be done to overcome the inertia
Law 2 - force = mass * accleration How is this law applied to performance in your skill
1. As many muscles and joints as possible
2. Order - big to small

4. Use full range of motion in joints
5. Fully extend in follow through phase
Make a screencast as I have, or take screenshots, identifying the aspects of Force summation you are using in your basketball shot.
Discuss weaknesses and strengths in your technique in relation to the force summation. Compare yourself to the pro. For excellence consider the pros and cons of using these principles. Sometimes using these principles compromise accuracy
If we want accuracy in our movement, in the preparation phase, it is important to get our hinge joints (knees, elbows) into a position where when we execute and extends the force is being directed straight to the target.
This requires shoulder extension so the elbow is in line. There are pros and cons to any technique. Consider these in your video. The con could be that you give up force summation principles of using big ball and socket joints and muscles in order for acurracy using your smaller thing joints.
Evaluate your technique and compare to the pro. What do you do well, What do you need to improve and what are the pros and cons of your chosen technique.
Make a screen cast and identify aspects of your balance and stability that you do well, and aspects you don't do well.
