Achievement Devise strategies for a physical activity outcome.
Achievement with Merit Devise in-depth strategies for a physical activity outcome.
Achievement with Excellence· Devise comprehensive strategies for a physical activity outcome.
Student Instructions
Students are required to develop, trial, and adjust the devised strategies with the intention to achieve their physical activity outcome rather than evaluating these strategies.
A specific outcome should be considered for the physical activity rather than a range of outcomes.
The strategies most relevant to achieving the physical activity outcome should be considered. This will allow for more depth in the student responses. Strategies that have been selected and explained should match those being trialled.
Student responses must provide an explanation that includes:
clearly identifying the intended physical activity outcome
clearly identifying each strategy to be developed
how and why they are intending to apply each strategy to meet their intended physical activity outcome
specific examples of how they would apply each strategy.
It is expected that strategies are trialled and adjusted before the physical activity outcome is completed rather than evaluating these strategies after the event/experience/ performance programme.
Student responses must provide:
evidence of the strategies being trialled, with supporting examples
an explanation of how and why adjustments are required to be made to each strategy after the trialling process to achieve the intended physical activity outcome. These adjustments should align with the student’s reflection.
if no strategies require adjustment, this needs to be reflected in the explanation relating to the physical activity outcome.
The intended physical activity outcome is to score a point by putting the ball down over the line. On defence, the intended outcome is to defend the line from the opposition, placing the ball down over the line. Scoring the ball over the line and defending an open line is classed as an open target
The first strategy that my team and I used was man-on-man defence.
(why, how - ask yourself many times. Back up with a specific example)
Mirroring
After using a man on man defence for a few games, the team and I noticed we were still letting in points. When then decided to make adjustments. (explain adjustments you made. why did you make them? Did they work? pros/cons. what were the outcomes. Each adjustment you discuss needs to be a new paragraph
Getting too tired so staying back closer to the target
Opposition has too much speed so cutting down the space
Changing markers to avoid mis match
Watching the hips if marking a stepper.
Two seconds watching the player and one second watching the ball. - many of you were ball watching
Statement: There is an inter relationship between phycology and physically performing man on man defence.
Explain : Explain why there is an interrelationship. Consider efficacy, esteem, mindfulness. How do these influence the way you defend.
Xample: Give real examples from the game

Explain precisely what you did and how you did it. Explain the adjustments you made. Why did you make them? Do you know if they worked? Pros/cons. What were the outcomes? Each adjustment you discuss needs to be a new paragraph.
How to set up a screen

Stand on the shoulder of the defender. Pick the shoulder where your attacker is looking to go around.
Keep legs broad and stay solid
Protect yourself by crossing your arms around your chest

“Life is available only in the present moment. If you abandon the present moment you cannot live the moments of your daily life deeply.”
Buddha
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.”
Sharon Salzberg
“Mindfulness isn’t difficult, we just need to remember to do it.”
Eckhart Tolle
“Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry—all forms of fear—are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.”
Wayne Dyer
“You’ll seldom experience regret for anything that you’ve done. It is what you haven’t done that will torment you. The message, therefore, is clear. Do it! Develop an appreciation for the present moment. Seize every second of your life and savor it. Value your present moments. Using them up in any self-defeating ways means you’ve lost them forever.”
Discuss the importance of finding motivation and effort in your games.
Motivation can come from internally or externally.
Ultimately, internal motivation is better as it means you are in control of your effort, achievement, and happiness.

Make a statement on how you and your team came up with a strategy of using a zone defence
Explain the advantages/disadvantages of using a zone defence compared to a a man on man
Describe what type of zone did you used and what were your policies.
Explain and evaluate how it worked. What did you trial. Evaluate the adjustments you had to make
Evaluate the interrelationship between Zone Policy and Team 'buy in' Belief that they can stick to the policy. Are there strategies you use to ensure your team buys into the policy and also believes and sticks to the policy.
Features of a zone defence
Identify the space on the field court where the opposition can potentially score.
Break that space up into separate zones for each player to defend
Assign each player in your team to a separate zone to defend
Consider the strength and weaknesses of your players when assigning zones. An example would be that faster players could be assigned a bigger zone
Position yourself always closest to the ball without leaving your zone
Spend the majority of your time with your eyes scanning your zone identifying threats that enter
Traet your zone as your territory and do not give up free shots within your territory
Write about attacks you used to beat the zone defence
Consider these strategies - fast breaks and collapsing the zone by placing big players in the danger area

To conclude, you’ll need to come up with one final evaluative argument.
This evaluation argument provides an overall assessment. You can start with “Overall, Facebook has been…” and continue by saying that (all things considered) he was a good or bad president!
Remember, you can only come up with an overall evaluation after you’ve looked at the subject’s pros and cons based upon your evaluation criteria.
In the example below, I’m going to use my 5 C’s conclusion paragraph method. This will make sure my conclusion covers all the things a good conclusion should cover!
Like the INTRO method, the 5 C’s conclusion method should have one sentence for each point to create a 5 sentence conclusion paragraph.
The 5 C’s conclusion method is:
Close the loop: Return to a statement you made in the introduction.
Conclude: Show what your final position is.
Clarify: Clarify how your final position is relevant to the Essay Question.
Concern: Explain who should be concerned by your findings.
Consequences: End by noting in one final, engaging sentence why this topic is of such importance. The ‘concern’ and ‘consequences’ sentences can be combined
Here’s a possible concluding argument for our essay question: Write an Evaluation Essay on Facebook’s Impact on Society.
“The introduction of this essay highlighted that Facebook has had a profound impact on society. This evaluation essay has shown that this impact has been both positive and negative. Thus, it is too soon to say whether Facebook has been an overall positive or negative for society. However, people should pay close attention to this issue because it is possible that Facebook is contributing to the undermining of truth in media and positive interpersonal relationships.”
