Week beginning - Monday 9th March 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
This week Year 3 have been busy as usual! In maths we have all finished our fraction unit and move onto mass & capacity. In PE we continue to work on our hand-eye coordination in tennis. In our inquiry we have looked at the pros and cons that advancements in technology have brought us, focussing mainly on travel, communication, medicine and AI. Thank you so much to those who were able to give up their time and join us for the parent engagement session on Wednesday. We hope the questions you were asked and answered were at least somewhat relevant to our learning journey as we collected information in preparation for our class debate at the end of the week.

Max takes great care to listen and join in with all of our class reading sessions - quick to point out when a metaphor or a simile has been used, equally quick to share his thoughts and ideas about a text. And very quick to voice his opinion about the presence of a cliffhanger!

Heather always has lots of helpful and relevant ideas to share in class discussions. She has communicated her ideas particularly well in this week's writing to persuade, representing the viewpoint that advances in technology are not a good thing. Her arguments are well-organised and carefully considered. Well done Heather.

Jake has been working hard this week, as usual. He has shown how reflective he can be by listening well to feedback and has made a big effort to improve his presentation and the detail in his written work. Keep it up!

Elliot has been an Inquirer this week, thoroughly exploring the concept of a debate, and finding out how inventions and discoveries have led to improving technologies. Very well done Elliot.

Archie read a whole page to the class from the core text 'The Boy Who Stole The Pharaoh's Lunch', tackling tricky words and using a lovely clear voice.
We were all SO proud of you Archie!

Henry is a strong and confident reader. Henry is always reading at home and this week helped read out the Year 3 spellings and definitions to the class.
