Mr Moore's News Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
What a incredibly jam-packed week we have had!
On Monday and Tuesday, we welcomed the International Baccalaureate Evaluation team to Paddock Wood. They provided invaluable, insightful feedback and celebrated the successes of our inquiry-based curriculum. The team was glowing in its praise of the children, commending how eloquently they articulated their learning and the high quality of their work. They also praised how our curriculum presents a rich variety of opportunities for all children whilst celebrating cultures, individuality and diversity. We are immensely proud of our progress and look forward to sharing the final report with you in the coming weeks. Thank you for your continued support in achieving this.
Throughout the week, it was wonderful to see so many of you at our parental engagement sessions, which the children absolutely loved. Engaging in learning alongside your child creates a very special environment, and we hope you enjoyed the experience. We will be seeking your feedback on these sessions to ensure we can refine them for future events.
To conclude the week, we are excited about the PTA Easter disco. For the very first time, we are welcoming EYFS, who are extremely excited about their Easter Party. Seeing the children enjoy themselves at these brilliant events is always a highlight for us. We also recognize that these fundraisers are vital for enhancing the educational experience for all children. We are delighted that PTA fundraising has already allowed us to launch Forest School and replenish outdoor equipment. Furthermore, fundraising is paying for a brand-new Trim Trail, which will be installed over the Easter holidays!
Have a safe and wonderful weekend.
Yours sincerely,
Mr. Moore Principal Leigh Academy Paddock Wood
Office Messages
Year 2 are getting very excited for their trip to The National Maritime Museum on 27th March. Please ensure you have made payment, given consent and requested their school provided packed lunch (if required) by Wednesday 18th March 2026 via MCAS>Trips and MCAS>Products if you have not already done so. Please speak to the school office prior to the deadline if you have any issues.
Parking
Please could we remind parents and carers to park considerately when dropping off and collecting children. We continue to receive reports from our neighbours of blocked driveways and cars parked dangerously on junctions. There are free carparks in Paddock Wood which are both just a short walk away from the academy. We will continue to monitor this issue and work with our local police officers to ensure our children are dropped off and collected in a safe and peaceful manner.
Year 6 - If you applied for a place at a Kent Secondary School for your child you should now have received your offer email. Please ensure you check this carefully and follow any instructions set out to accept the place, lodge an appeal etc.. The deadline to respond is 16th March 2026.

#WakeUpWednesday is a campaign by the National Online Safety organisation. It's designed to help parents and carers stay informed about the latest online trends and platforms that their children might be using.
Every Wednesday, a new guide or resource is released, offering simple tips and advice on how to keep children safe online. These guides cover a range of topics, from popular apps and games to general online safety issues like cyberbullying and privacy. The goal is to start a conversation between adults and children about staying safe in the digital world.
We will upload these guides/resources here every week.
