Week beginning - Monday 23rd February 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
We've started our new inquiry with a step into the past. Firstly, looking at the recent past - the last year in fact - and the children are making a book to illustrate events in their own lives. They have thought of questions that they would be interested in exploring about inventions and discoveries and how they affect our lives nowadays. Their questions are wide and varied and we plan to explore them through studies into the ancient civilisations of Egypt and the Shang Dynasty. Our focus this week has been on Ancient Egypt and we have identified how water was used and compared forms of travel from Ancient Egyptian times to today.
This week also sees the beginning of our two modules of swimming lessons. A busy start to Module 4!

Bertie has been a risk taker this week, actively involving himself in all class discussions and contributing his ideas. He thought hard about the provocation to our new Inquiry and justified his decisions for identifying different civilizations based on visual clues and evidence.

Archie has been trying really hard to focus in his learning this week and settled well into the new module. He thought hard about the events to include in his personal timeline and had lots of ideas for the symbols he has chosen to use to communicate them.
