Under the mentorship of Dr. Douglas Ling, I research traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic epilepsy, which is a secondary injury of TBI. We specifically look at glutamate, an amino acid and neurotransmitter in the brain, to determine its role in the development of post-traumatic epilepsy after a brain injury.
