This month, all students at OWN 2 are participating in a school-wide art project to create their own self-portraits. Each portrait celebrates the unique identities, backgrounds, and stories that make up our diverse school community. Through this creative exploration, students are learning that art is not only about how we look—but about who we are and how our cultures, experiences, and perspectives shape us. Together, these portraits will form a vibrant gallery of the many faces that make OWN 2 such a special place to learn and grow.
Color theory and cutting skills were practiced when designing their "Care-Bears". Its essential to use various tools in the art room such as pastels and scissors. Self-expression and understanding of key concepts in art are practiced daily to ensure that our little artists are exposed to all traditional and current art techniques.

In Physical Education, language plays a key role in supporting student learning and development. I model clear, purposeful language to explain rules, give instructions, model movement vocabulary, and encourage teamwork and sportsmanship. Students build their understanding of both physical skills and communication. This helps them grow not just as athletes, but as confident, respectful team members.
