Our visit to Space Club provided students with a rich, multisensory learning experience that encouraged exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Through interactive play spaces, building challenges, sensory activities, and imaginative environments, students demonstrated the IB Learner Profile traits of being inquirers, communicators, and risk-takers. They explored their surroundings with curiosity, worked together to solve problems, and used their imaginations to create and discover new possibilities. Experiences like this support the PYP belief that meaningful learning happens through play, inquiry, and hands-on engagement, allowing students to make connections, develop social skills, and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
In ELA, Students explored how we can help others by collaborating to plan and create posters about ways people can make a difference in their community. Working together, they shared ideas, listened to one another, and combined their thinking to design one large group poster. Their work highlighted actions such as lake clean-ups, caring for gardens, participating in food drives, and helping at nursing homes. Through this collaborative process, students demonstrated teamwork, communication, and a shared commitment to helping others.
Butterflies
Each student observed and experienced the day-to-day transformation of tour class caterpillars as they grew and changed into a butterfly. We were:
Inquirers – Students ask questions and investigate the butterfly's life cycle.
Knowledgeable – Students learn about growth, change, and living things.
Caring – Students show responsibility for the caterpillars and their environment.
Reflective – Students observe and record changes over time.
Students recorded observations of the caterpillars life cycle over 1 month.
Here are the class caterpillars hanging out and getting ready their Chrysalis phase!
