Even when Jackie Robinson was treated unfairly, he stayed principled and chose to do the right thing. It wasn’t easy, but he remained calm, respectful, and true to his values. His principled actions showed kids that doing what’s right matters most—even when it’s hard.

Colin Kaepernick
He is a principled person who believes it is important to stand up for fairness. He peacefully kneeled during the national anthem to speak out against the unfair treatment of Black people. Even though he knew it might cost him his football career, he stayed true to what he believed was right and did not give up on his values.

The View from Saturday by E.L. Konigsburg — A group of diverse students work together with honesty and respect, showing teamwork and standing up for others.
Front Desk by Kelly Yang — A strong, kind main character helps her family and stands up for what’s fair while managing tough challenges at their motel (good for talking about integrity and fairness).
