We have finished the first half of our unit, studying place value and understanding the value of each digit. We also looked at how we round, compare and order numbers. We are now moving onto adding and subtracting multi-digit numbers. After we finish our first Module, we will begin our study of multiplication.
We will be finishing out our first text set of wonders which we read different texts about to answer the essential question "How do people respond to natural disaster?" We read about different natural disasters, and looked into ways people respond and prepare. Students then took what read and wrote an argumentative writing about whether we should focus on preparing for natural disasters or help people after.
