“As I go into my junior year of college, I can not name how many times I went into an engineering class that I thought would be impossible, only to find that the education I had received at Oley Valley High School had taught me all the fundamentals I would need to succeed. No matter what engineering discipline you choose, you will need to take some general engineering courses and I found myself well ahead of my peers in the basics of mechanics, CAD, fluids, and many more. Though I am a chemical engineer, most of my first two years of classes were general engineering classes. These are the basics that any discipline must master. I can say, whole heartedly, I would have struggled much more my first two years if not for the amazing curriculum presented to me during my time at Oley Valley High School. The program at OVHS is unlike any other and has truly given me the ability to pursue any discipline of engineering as I choose." - Shannon Lackey, OVHS Class of 2018
