South Park - Oshkosh, WI
Students in the Refugee Youth Mentor Program enjoyed a fun-filled day at South Park. Staff set up a “Build Your Own Sandwich” station complete with sweet treats, fruits, and veggies. From board games to bubbles, there were plenty of activities to keep everyone smiling. One of the highlights of the day was the splash pad, where students cooled off and laughed with friends under the summer sun.
After splashing around, students gathered for a picnic with friends, drying off and soaking up the sun. There was something for everyone to enjoy—from a variety of halal options to fresh fruits, veggies, and an assortment of meats and cheeses. The generous spread made sure every student could find something they liked, bringing comfort, connection, and full stomachs to the sunny afternoon.
Students used their towels to create cozy picnic spots with friends, enjoying their meals together under the sun.
Students gathered for a few exciting games of Lightning on the basketball court. Lining up in a row, they took turns shooting—trying to make their basket before the person behind them did. The energy was high as players were gradually knocked out, leaving one final winner standing. It was a fun and competitive way to bond and cheer each other on.
Staff and students formed a circle and played a friendly game of volleyball, taking turns passing, setting, and hitting the ball to one another. Laughter and encouragement filled the air as everyone joined in, showing teamwork and having fun together.
