Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin is the perfect mix of classic fun and lakeside charm! Nestled right where the Fox River meets the bay, this throwback gem offers everything from thrilling rides and a swooping roller coaster to tasty concessions and a buzzing food pavilion. Whether you're spinning on the rides, grabbing snacks, or dancing the day away at one of the pavilion events, there's never a dull moment.
ZIPPIN', SCREAMIN', and GRINNIN’!
"The Zippin Pippin was Elvis Presley's favorite ride. The "King" rented liberty land August 8, 1977 from 1:15am until 7am to entertain a group of about 10 guests. Decked in a blue jumpsuit with black leather belt, huge belt buckle with turquoise studs and gold chains, the "King" rode the Zipping Pippin repeatedly during a 2 hour period. He lost his belt buckle on the ride that morning and it was found and returned the next day. Elvis Liberty land rental became his last public appearance. He died August 16th." (Photo Top Left)
Students were eager to kick off the day with a bang—by jumping right onto the legendary Zippin Pippin! With sunny skies and big smiles, our students, volunteers, and even a few brave staff members hopped aboard for the wild ride. Between the twists, turns, and high-speed drops, the air was filled with screams of excitement (and maybe a little terror). It quickly became the fan-favorite ride of the day, and the perfect way to launch our Bay Beach adventure!
SACK RACES and SMILES!
Next up was the Giant Slide—an old-school thrill that never gets old! Students grabbed their potato sacks, climbed to the top, and zoomed down with huge grins, racing their friends to see who could hit the bottom first. Laughter echoed through the park as they flew down side-by-side, making memories with every speedy slide!
Sliding into Friendship and Bravery!
When one student felt nervous about going down the Giant Slide alone, another quickly stepped in and asked, “Want to ride together?” With a shared sack and a lot of encouragement, the two zipped down side by side—turning fear into fun! It was a heartwarming moment of teamwork and support, showing how powerful friendship can be when it comes to conquering fears and celebrating success together. The rest of the students cheered them on!
CRASH COURSE FUN
Students and one of our staff members revved up the fun in the bumper cars, turning the ride into a friendly competition—who could bump the most and speed the fastest in wild circles! Laughter filled the air as everyone aimed for each other with playful crashes, spinning and swerving through the chaos. It was nonstop excitement and giggles as each bump brought more joy than the last!
WHIRL POWER
Staff and students took on the Tilt-A-Whirl, laughing through every dizzying spin! Using their body weight to control the speed, they zoomed in circles while the ride itself bobbed up and down in a loop. Whether they were on the ride or watching their friends spin into silliness, students couldn’t stop laughing at the nonstop twirls and dizzy reactions!
GRAVITY? NEVER HEARD OF HER!
The spinning fun didn’t stop at the Tilt-A-Whirl—students were ready for round two on a gravity-defying ride! Standing upright with their backs against the wall, they were spun so fast that gravity had no chance—pinning them in place as the ride lifted and dropped while still whirling around. Shouts of surprise and laughter filled the air as students marveled at the wild sensation of being stuck to the wall. It was a thrilling, spin-tastic experience they won’t forget!
SKY-HIGH GOODBYES!
To wrap up the adventure, students took a peaceful ride on the Ferris wheel, soaking in the view from way up high. As they rose into the sky, they waved and called out to friends and staff below, sharing laughs from above. With the breeze in their hair and the whole park stretched out beneath them, it was the perfect, calming end to a day full of excitement, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
