As I developed an understanding in Forensics, the task presented was solving a murder case using clues and hints around the situation. Investigating the death of Barry Cuda on the Dock led to speaking with known associates, looking at blood samples and essentially creating a timeline of what could have happened to Mr. Cuda. I worked through the case in order to figure out who killed Mr. Cuda and because of this began gaining an understanding of what goes into forensics as I continued to learn what to look for. Eventually I was able to come to my conclusion of who killed the victim and fortunately it was right. Through this assignment I was able to grasp a part forensics and get a hint on what to expect this upcoming school year, which to an extent seems exciting.
To begin my introduction to forensics, we were presented with a case study that highlighted the contribution of forensics to solving cases. This was a famous case that shook up the entirety of Connecticut as Richard Craft was being convicted of killing his wife, however there was no body or blood, only minor pieces of evidence. This stumped me as I was trying to study the case as instructed but couldn't figure out how forensics came into play or how Mr. Craft was convicted. Reading more into the case I learned about Mr. Craft's actions and began seeing the impact of forensics as it slowly revealed hidden details that Mr. Craft tried to keep hidden. Ultimately I learned about the benefits of forensics and was able to answer the questions presented later as I came to understand the case.
