This assignment was a final test we were given based on one of the first topics we learned this year and it's objective was to finalize our understanding on the topic completing the square by completing a series of problems based on this topic. While I now understand this topic, this assignment isn't my best work because I didn't do as well as I expected and for me this was a reminder that I need to do better. And from this assignment, it allowed me to set a mark from where I can go from and get better.
This assignment was one of the last tasks we were given at the end of the marking period and the objective of this assignment was to show our understanding of the sum and difference of cubes by solving a specific problem tied to this topic. When we first began to learn this topic, it was something completely different from we had done in the past which made it more difficult in comparison to the other things that we've done during the school year but I specifically chose this assignment because it shows my growth in this topic and how my understanding has developed.
This assignment was one of the final tests we had on our topic of exponents to ensure we had full understanding of the topic hence it was one of the most difficult problems we were challenged. Throughout the problem I faced many issues that caused me to end up failing, showing me that I wasn't at the necessary level and understanding to pass this assignment. From this assignment I learned I had to get comfortable with doing complicated problems and taking them step by step.
This assignment was the final assignment we were given on the topic of remainder theorem and the objective was to complete tasks given to us while also explaining the steps that we took and prove why our answer is right. Going into the assignment I was confident in my ability and it showed as I passed the assignment. While I was confused by the whole remainder formula at the start of learning the topic I was able to gradually get better and successfully pass the assignment.
Before moving onto the Logarithm, our understanding of exponents had to be at a high level as it would play a part in how well we would be able to understand and solve Logarithm and other high level math problems. This quiz was to test our understanding and knowledge of exponents along with how well were able to apply these exponents onto different problems. Going into this quiz I was somewhat confident about my strength in applying the rules of exponents but I struggled with the order of which to apply these rules along which played a crucial role in the answer you could get. Overall I was able to have a better understanding of everything going into this test and therefore allowed me to be successful.
As we progress with Logarithm's we had to be tested along the way to show our increased understanding in Logs and our application of Logs. This quiz was one that focused on a specific area/criteria of Logarithms that was important to the topic in general. I was confident in my ability to solve Logarithm's but the issue was the fact that I didn't always fully complete the problem which was an issue because without the problem being fully solved the answer is essentially incorrect which played a part in why I didn't do as good. Learning this allowed me bbe more careful when solving problems and to really look over my work.
As we moved further along into Pre - Calculus and learned more about trigonometry functions, we had to have a basic understanding of the functions and be able to gain the value's of the functions based on the question were given without the aide of a physical unit circle. I struggled with the advanced one's as I kept mixing up which one's were for the x - axis and which ones were the y - axis. Due to this I was unable to be success in the Unit Circle 2.0 quiz as highlighted above. However from this I learned that I need to be more mindful and careful when it comes to the functions because I tend to get different things messed up.
To act as our introduction into Pre - Calculus we had to memorize the Unit Circle and all the values that come with it and in order to ensure our understanding we would be tested on it everyday. While I panicked at first it was quickly revealed that the Unit Circle has patterns that would make it easier for us to remember to Unit Circle. By incorporating these patterns I was able to quickly memorize the entire Unit Circle and be successful on the multiple quizzes we were given, as highlighted by the image above. Through this I was able to learn that math is more about understanding different patterns and methods in order to be successful.
