In our study of computer-integrated manufacturing, we need to understand the various processes involved in producing products for customers. For this assignment, we are required to select a manufacturing process, describe what it entails, discuss its historical evolution, and explain its relevance and opportunities in the modern context. In a group of two me and my classmates chose lean manufacturing which in simple terms is a methodology that focuses on minimizing waste within the manufacturing systems while simultaneously maximizing productivity. Overall this is very helpful to get a better grasp on understanding different processes of manufacturing,

Ethics and Safety Presentation

We were given an assignment to create a presentation about a product-related disaster. In my group of two, we chose to focus on the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster to emphasize the importance of ethics and safety. We aimed to explain the reasons and causes of the disaster. Manufacturing is used to create products, but sometimes errors occur, leading to necessary upgrades to prevent similar incidents. It is necessary to thoroughly test products before launching them for public use.

The project aims to efficiently design and produce a fully functioning part feeder system that minimizes worker injuries, incorporating at least one hydraulic-powered movement. Specifically, the product must be designed to ensure worker safety, while also functioning as an automated machine, utilizing hydraulic power and including horsepower calculations if the block is at least 38 pounds. This assignment was very educational in our previous learning in building, coding, and engineering procedures.

In this activity we are assigned to create a program that contains variables that provide flexibility and efficiency options. To start the efficiency of the program with the use of variables, we have to follow the instructions informed in the Procedure, equipment and resources to objectively place the Cylinder on top of each other perfectly. Thus this overall assignment was alright and enjoyable to do giving clear instructions and knowledge for a project that would involve something similar to this activity.
