What i need to improve on- In my Invention essay, I wrote about an ancient invention that I learned about in various empires. For this individual quiz assignment, I chose to focus on compasses. I began by discussing the origins of compasses and their use at sea, leading up to their applications in modern times. One issue I identified with my essay was that I needed to provide more detail in both the introduction and the conclusion. Additionally, I could have incorporated more of my knowledge and thoughts in a structured manner. While I didn’t receive the worst grade possible, I recognize that I could have improved the assignment by adding more content.
What i did well on- The brochure presentation was graded as a test. Our overall goal was to work in a group to research an ancient nation, and then use that information to create a presentation that could be formatted as either a digital or physical poster, using Google Slides. During our presentation, we did not speak as smoothly as we had hoped, but I was relieved that we still received an acceptable grade. My group, consisting of Tseyone Zelelew, Donovan Cruz, Rian Souffrant, and myself, agreed to focus on the Songhai Empire for our project. While researching, we decided to create a digital poster on Canva. Each group member took responsibility for a specific aspect of the presentation, covering topics such as government, economy, geography, culture, and background information. We also made sure to include appealing pictures and colors. Our group learned a great deal about empires, including how they rise and fall into history. This assignment has also laid a solid foundation for us as we continue to learn in the next unit

What i need to improve on- This test grade assignment was not my best performance on writing about Black History Month. Our main goal was to write about racial and ethnic diversity, their immersion in a digital world, and the emergence of generative AI like ChatGPT. We were to explain the most significant opportunities or risks that AI presents for older generations, our own generation, and future ones. The main issue I encountered with this essay was time management. For me, writing an essay is like crafting a story, and it takes time to develop better ideas and to experience actual enjoyment and engagement with the writing process. However, that enjoyment is often hindered by time constraints. I knew what I wanted to write about since I had received similar writing assignments at my previous school, where we had a week to complete them and plenty of class time to work. I’m aware of many movements that involve technology and AI, but I couldn’t finish the essay on time due to other assignments piling up. As a result, I only completed an introduction and one body paragraph, which I know I could have improved upon.
What i did well on- In Unit 3, we learned several vocabulary words related to various rebellions, empires, influential people, and laws. For our quiz assignment, we could write a story using the vocabulary words or create a poster that defined them. I chose to make the poster online using Canva. While it was a simple task to write the definition, I wanted to invest more effort into it because I enjoy adding extra information to simple projects. Overall, I’m glad I received a good grade, which has positively impacted my overall score and provided me with some ideas for the next unit we will be studying.

What I can improve On-
In this assignment, we explore the vocabulary related to the Enlightenment period, a significant time of intellectual and cultural transformation in Europe from the late 17th to the early 19th century. This era emphasized the importance of reason, scientific inquiry, and individual liberty as essential means for understanding the world, fostering societal improvement and the creation of new technology. Additionally, the Enlightenment-inspired many individuals to challenge authority and pursue evidence-based knowledge, which ultimately sparked various rebellions and movements for change. Furthermore, this assignment enhances creativity and to use words of events, new technology or famous people that were involved with the enlightenment and use it to make a story with at least 10 vocabulary words. What i could have improved on in this assignment was adding more vocabulary words since i only used 7 vocabulary words then 10, also i could have definitely added more interesting things to the story because throughout the whole story i wasn't sure what i wanted the story to be about. Although the grade I got on the assignment could have been worse, I know I could have gotten a better grade.

What I did Alright on-
The project involves selecting an invention or health-related topic from the Enlightenment period and exploring its impact on 18th-century society. The goal is to research this subject thoroughly and create a poster to promote or discuss the findings. Additionally, participants must answer questions that pertain specifically to their chosen project, focusing on aspects such as written advertisements, newspaper articles, photo galleries, blueprints, and health implications. For my project, I chose to focus on the telegraph, a groundbreaking invention of the Industrial Revolution developed by Samuel Morse in the 1830s and 1840s. Although the telegraph emerged after the 18th century, its impact transformed communication in the 19th century, facilitating rapid long-distance exchanges of information. This advancement greatly influenced various aspects of society, including business operations, news dissemination, and military strategy. To present my findings, I will create a newspaper highlighting the significance of the telegraph and its far-reaching effects on daily life and communication. Additionally this Project was alright and i put a decent amount of information i could have improve it if i added more pictures or designs to it, improving my grammar and adding more information but i'm glad i got a decent grade on it.

What I did Good on-
The assignment focused on understanding the Cold War, specifically examining Russia's impact on the spread of communism in Latin America. It investigated how the ideals of communism resonated with Latin Americans and analyzed the resistance from the United States, which sought to uphold its democratic values against the communist movement.
To support this analysis, we studied the Communist Manifesto, which articulates significant concepts like the idea that history is driven by class struggle and the belief in the eventual overthrow of capitalism by the proletariat, leading to a classless society. The manifesto advocates for a revolutionary transition from capitalism to communal ownership and resources. In addressing why communist ideals appealed to many in Latin America, it became clear that historical injustices stemming from colonization, such as the marginalization of indigenous peoples and the Casta system, played a major role. Economic hardship and poor working conditions further heightened the temptation of communist regimes, which offered job security and social welfare, particularly during the political instability often intensified by U.S. intervention during the Cold War. Additionally, the study highlighted how, during the Cold War, Russia actively promoted communism in Latin America by supporting local movements, assisting aligned governments, and forging diplomatic connections, with Cuba standing out as a significant ally symbolizing this influence. Finally, the contrast between America's commitment to democracy and communist ideology, which leaned towards authoritarianism, positioned the U.S. as a beacon of hope for those facing oppression. Seeing communism as a direct threat to democracy, especially within its own sphere of influence, the United States engaged deeply in the Cold War, a conflict that greatly shaped global politics.
From this study, we gathered insights that connected the principles of communism to the context of Latin America during the Cold War. We learned about the various influences at play and why America opposed the communist system. Overall, I am glad to receive a good grade on this assignment, not only for the academic recognition but also for more on understanding of communism as a social system in which property and goods are owned by the government.

What I can Improve On- This project focuses on researching a rebellion in an African state, looking specifically at the historical context of imperialism. Imperialism refers to the practice of industrialized nations, such as France, Great Britain, and Germany, taking control of other nations' territories. In Africa, these colonial powers established dominance over various lands, ultimately leading to conflicts and rebellions as the colonized peoples sought to assert their independence and challenge their oppressors. Our task is to explain the dynamics of these rebellions and the colonial rule they faced. The state that I chose for this project was Cameroon and before we even got started on the presentation we had to take notes about after and before imperialism, to show my understanding Cameroon was part of the Cameroon Anglophone Crisis, also known as the Ambazonian War of Independence, it was a conflict between the Cameroonian government and separatist groups in the English-speaking regions of the country. The rebellion is driven by a deep-seated grievance among the Anglophone minority who feel marginalized and discriminated against by the Francophone-dominated government. Although this was a group project and we shared notes, I still believe we could have had a better grade by adding more information, checking grammar mistakes, and putting citations, but overall I'm glad at the decent grade I got.
