Marking Period 1
The objective of this assignment was to learn, take notes and make a summary related to the Great Migration Through completing this assignment, I learned that after Reconstruction, the South remained isolated from the rest of the United States. Due to its harsh and undemocratic treatment of African Americans, critics often referred to the South as another country. I was good at including the lexicon of the Great Migration. It is important to include the lexicon of a word so other people could know the definition of that word.
The objective of this assignment was to write an essay explaining the political, social, and economic aspects of Reconstruction and whether it was a success or a failure. Through completing this assignment, I learned that Reconstruction influenced the women’s rights movement by limiting women’s right to vote. I could work on grammar, mechanics, evidence, or reasoning.
Marking Period 2
The objective of this assignment was to write a paper about our assigned New Deal Program or law. I wrote about the Emergency. The Emergency Bank Act was a federal law that was passed in 1933. On March 9, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into the law which granted the president, the comptroller of the currency, and the secretary of the treasury broader regulation authority over the nation’s banking system. I did good on including background information about the Emergency Bank Act and explaining what a Title is.
The objective of this assignment was to write a 1500 word essay about our racial segregation. I was instructed to decide if racial school segregation is a problem in New Jersey. Racial school segregation was something that started a long time ago, in the 1950s. It left permanent marks on the fabric of American education. Racial school segregation is the separation of students based on their ethnicity and their skin color. I think it was a problem in NJ because it separated different students away which affects their learning. I could work on addressing the topic better, or I could work on my in text citation if needed.
Marking Period 3
The objective of this assignment was to write an essay about our assigned or chosen genocide. I decided to write about the genocide of Rwanda. Rwanda is a diminutive country which similarly shares the size of Maryland. This type of genocide spread through the country fast and affected many Rwandan lives towards the commencement by the Hutut nationalists in the capital of Kigali. I did well on including background information about what Rwanda is and where it is located. I could work on being more cautious when I write. If I am not careful enough, my work could be announced as plagiarized which it was.
The objective of this assignment was to answer the questions below a timeline explaining the events in the Vietnam War. President Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and Ford were included int he timeline. At first, the U.S. supported the French to offer extra assistance. The U.S. then supported South Vietnam since the U.S. was there to aid South Vietnam. I did well on answering and restating the questions. I should've been smarter about my time since I did not answer all of the questions. I also did not explain my answers to the questions I did complete.
Marking Period 4
The objective of this assignment was to identify protections in the Bill of Rights that were denied or abused by COINTELPRO, and explain and analyze how the evidence in the documents proves that a constitutional injustice occurred. Some examples of these rights being abused could be from Amendment I, Amendment IV, or Amendment V. These protections were all harassed from the use of a strategy. All of these techniques were unique in many ways. The evidence contained does prove that constitutional injustice occurred because each of the rights in the Bill of Rights that is included were either broken, harassed, or ruined. I did well on including some credible details about the different Amendments that I chose to write about. I could've worked my comprehension because most of the information that I interpreted was wrong. I could also work on my use of punctuation skills.
The objective of this assignment was to create a poster encouraging others to participate in a non-violent protest. The Greensboro sit-in was a nonviolent protest. This is because the 4 students that sat down didn’t cause or intend any violence to serve. I did well on providing creativity towards the effort of making this flyer. I should have deducted more words since there is an immense amount of words on the flyer and no one would want to read that much to be entertained.
