Research Data and Design

In this assignment, we had to write a personal thesis paper on anything we wanted, I chose to write about the Roman Catholic Church. I was really proud of this assignment because I had the chance to talk and write about my religion. When it comes to my religion, I'm really devoted about it and it guides me in my choices in life. To complete this assignment, first I had to determine the topic I would research on. Then I had to outline my essay, which was outlining the introduction paragraph, body paragraphs, and adding quotes. And finally, I started writing my personal thesis paper.

For this writing assessment, we had 80 minutes to read the two articles that were provided. The assignment was to construct an essay that uses the two sources to compare and contrast the documents. The following articles were on fracking being both good and bad. Therefore, the objective of this assessment was to argue if fracking was good or bad using the articles. The challenging part of this writing assessment was the limited amount of time I had to write this essay. If I had to complete this assignment again, I would improve it by focusing more on the main points, making sure it's detailed, and trying not to worry about the time. 

The task of this assignment was to outline an essay based on our personal thesis paper. The objective of this was to have a rough draft of an intro paragraph, topics that are going to be discussed in the body paragraphs, and sources with analysis. For this assignment, the challenging parts were determining a concept to write about and not having confidence in this assignment. I would improve this assignment by spending more time on it, not waiting on the last minute, and asking for help. If I had to complete this assignment again, I would go to office hours next time and ask for help. Finally, this assignment taught me that it's important to outline and it should include detailed points.

This assignment was for high school students that were interested in entering the Black History Month Essay Contest however, everyone in our school had to participate in this contest. We had to answer the following essay topic which was, "how might AI technologies influence the pursuit of racial justice in our society?" While completing this assignment I have learned that AI technology influences the pursuit of racial justice in our society in a positive way such as social media being used as a activism platform. I believe I could've done this better by doing it on time and using my time wisely. Some of the challenges I faced while completing this assignment was not really understanding the focus question. However, once my teacher elaborated more, I understood it a bit better.

For our lit review, my group members and I had to create a lit review on the product we are creating, which is a manual snow shovel. We had to research about it and talk about the struggles. We had to provide a summary on existing topics for instance in this case snow shovels. This would allow people to have a better understanding of why we wanted to create this new snow shovel and research on the current snow shovels for our topic. This assignment showcases my strength by demonstrating the way I work with other people and my dedication in accomplishing this assignment. Finally, this assignment connects to the larger world, more specifically, when I'm in college, because it prepares me for the future and build basic skills. 

For this assignment, we had to individually compose a paragraph introducing our product. This was our last section for our first section of our lit review, which was introducing our manual snow shovel. At the end, my group members and I would combine our paragraphs together, and try to make it into one strong paragraph. I really enjoyed doing this assignment because in this part I had to basically pitch our new product and talk highly about it. I believe this assignment demonstrates my strengths because it follows the work that I was tasked to do. The assignment also represents important themes in the course by introducing and teaching us about literature reviews.
