Marking Period 2:
The task on this assignment was to describe and discuss the effects the Great Depression led on African Americans. Something I learned when completing this assignment is that African Americans suffered a lot during the Great Depression by having to pay high rents and few opportunities of getting jobs. The challenge in this task was when we had to work in groups and break the parts for each person. I would improve this assignment by learning the in-text citation and always having a thesis.
In this assignment we had to write about the importance of the high number of young voters in the 2022 midterm elections. The reason for the high number of young voters is because they wanted to change and improve the social issues. This assignment showcases my strength by displaying my increase from the other essay. I really enjoyed this assignment because I got to research and learn more about this task.
Marking Period 3:
In this assignment, we had the chance to choose how we wanted to represent the theme "black resistance". The objective was to demonstrate how African Americans resisted racial and ongoing oppressions. I enjoyed doing this project because I had the chance to show my idea of this theme. This assignment connects to the larger world and community because it honors African American and their sacrifices they made.
In this law day project, we had to represent themes like voting rights, free expression and protests. We had the option to make a video, draw, or write. A challenge I found about this assignment is that I was struggling on how to address the prompt by drawing. If I had to complete this assignment again, I would improve it by adding more details and some color.
Marking Period 4:
The task of this assignment was to compose how the Vietnam War Protest songs are reliable sources of information to the Anti-Vietnam War movement in the US. To complete this assignment, first I had to analysis questions from two songs around the 1960s. And lastly, I had to plan out and brainstorm how to write the writing prompt. Through completing this assignment, I learned people used music to show the perspective of american men being forced to join the Vietnam War.
The objective of this assignment was to learn about African Americans responds to the Vietnam War and being forced to join the war. While I was completing this assignment, I learned that many activist were against the war like Martin Luther King Jr. because the Vietnam War would affect the moral injustice and standing. If I had the chance to improve this task, I would first start by analyzing the prompt and start a rough draft.
