Hello Freshmen and families!

My name is Brianna Martinez, and I get to be your English Teacher this year! This is my 6th year teaching English and my 5th year at OPRF. I went to high school at Plainfield East High School. I continued my education at the University of Illinois at Chicago where I earned a BA in the Teaching of English and earned an MS in Library Information Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

I have 2 cats, Sunny and Olive.
I love to read! I'm a big fan of BookTok.
I just got married this summer! For my honeymoon we went to Paris, Amsterdam, and Florence.
I enjoy cooking and baking for friends and family.

Students! I am very excited to experience your freshman year with you. We have a lot to learn. My hope is that we all show up giving the best version of ourselves that is possible each day. Here are some details that will help us do that.

Please make sure you bring these materials to class daily:

Your CHARGED Chromebook and your charger cord
Your English folder/binder
Your English notebook
A pen or pencil
A highlighter
Your independent reading book
