Freshman English

Course Description

This English course is designed for the college-bound student and focuses on the development and strengthening of reading, writing, and language skills, media literacy, as well as executive functioning skills. Students will read and discuss culturally diverse literature and be encouraged to respond to literature in a variety of ways to become critical, creative, and reflective readers and thinkers. Students will practice expository, persuasive, and narrative modes of writing that focus on revising for organization, coherence, effective elaboration, and conventions of grammar, usage, and mechanics.
