Note on Cheating: We expect the highest standard of academic honesty in this classroom. Please review the Academic Honesty Guidelines in your student handbook. Any students caught cheating on an exam, copying homework, or plagiarizing a paper will receive a zero on the assignment and have an immediate student-teacher conference scheduled. Any future infractions of the policy will lead to a conference with a parent or guardian and possible failure for the semester.
Note on Artificial Intelligence: Any use of Bard, ChatGPT or other artificial intelligence services in the brainstorming or drafting of any classwork is prohibited and will be treated as academic dishonesty (see consequences above). While artificial intelligence might (might!) have a useful role in some aspects of work and life, the processes of thinking and writing we are cultivating in a class like English A requires use of your own brain from start to finish.
