MS & HS (incoming 6th- 12th) Vocal Major Audition Details:
Day/Date:
Tuesday, February 13th, 2024
Thursday, February 15th, 2024
Time for Arrival:
Auditions will be scheduled between 4:30 and 7:00pm.
Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time.
Location:
CSAS MS, 1901 N. Ellison Ave, OKC - Choir Room (A200) on the 1st floor.
Point of Entry:
Front Doors (east doors - Ellison Ave entrance)
Parking Information:
Parking is available around the entire school (street parking and in parking lots).
Keep in mind school ends at @4pm, so there will be pick-up traffic just before & just after that time.
Also, Parent Teacher Conferences are occurring during this timeframe so parking will be in demand.

Vocal Major Audition-Specific Requirements:
All applicants will perform the following:
Vocal Warm Ups led by a provided pianist at the audition
Tonal Memory led by a provided pianist at the audition
Perform a prepared piece of any genre - can be with a vocal track or acapella

What to expect:
Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time to check-in, and find the choir room. Applicants may warm up in the hallway while waiting for their audition. Family members will wait until their student’s audition is finished in the hallway. There will be three judges present during your audition time. We are rooting for you, and want you to perform well!
The rubric for judging will be based on the following components, 5 being the top score in each category
Matching Pitch (five tones)
Intonation ( pitch stays in the center of the pitch)
Song performance (accurate pitches and rhythms)
Music Song Expression (Phrasing, dynamic, diction, tall vowels)
Stage Presence (posture, facial and body expression)
