Read about the Comet Players Theatre Company.
Learn about the three different DRAMA MAJOR PATHS in our ACADEMIC HANDBOOK.
Complete the Audition Form.
This is a digital form. You will be asked some important questions about who you are, where you’ve been going to school, contact information, and more. There is an essay portion that your parents cannot fill out for you, but they can help you with some of the info if you need them to.
Choose two monologues from this list. Make sure to choose grade appropriate monos!
We want you to choose two monologues that are CONTRASTING. Choose a humorous one and a serious one. OR you can choose one that is most like who you are and one that is totally different from yourself to show us your range.
At the audition, the judges will ask to see one of them, but if they feel like you might need to show more of your ability, they can ask you to perform the second one.
Be sure to wear or bring with you to the audition:
Tennis shoes or jazz shoes that you can move in
Water bottle any technical theatre items you want to show off
IF YOU WANT TO FOCUS ON TECH THEATRE . . . (this is TOTALLY OPTIONAL!)
You can do one of the following projects:
a) build a prop for a show. For example, you might make a shield out of duct tape and cardboard for a show about knights. Use your imagination and show our tech teachers what you can do! Made something before for an actual show? Bring that instead!
b) choose a character from your favorite play or musical and design a costume for them. Bring your costume sketch to show our tech teachers. Designed or constructed a costume before? Bring that instead!
