Principal's Message
Good afternoon Families,
Our school raised $415 for The Heart and Stroke Foundation during our Jump Rope for Heart event last Friday. Donations go towards life-saving heart and brain research. Students had an amazing time jumping rope to fun music and enjoying the beautiful weather! Thank you to Ms. Stasie & Mrs. Flynn for organizing this event and to our generous school community for their support!
We had our first Freezie Friday last week and our second one today! Thank you to our School Council Volunteers and Grade 6 students for all of their organizing to make this a successful and fun fundraiser for our Grade 6 class. Stay tuned for the total for our Freezie Friday Fundraiser which helps supports end of year Grade 6 activities.
With the warmer weather, we encourage students to wear hats and sunscreen. Please do not send sunscreen spray to school with your children as it can cause slippery floors. Sunscreen lotion is advised.
A friendly reminder that school is closed on Monday, May 18th as it is the Victoria Day holiday. We hope you enjoy a wonderful long weekend!

Our Year-End BBQ is coming up on Thursday, June 4th, from 5–7 PM in the school yard — and this year, we’re mixing things up in a big way (see below for AIR BAND SIGNUP!). To make this happen, we need your help! Here is the critical information:

COMING BACK THIS YEAR - AIR BANDS!
Back by popular demand, Convent Glen CS Air Bands are returning to the Year-End BBQ! Students can team up with a few friends, form a band, and hit the stage with their best lip syncing, dance moves, and air guitar solos. Costumes and props are highly encouraged (school-appropriate, of course).
Teachers will help spread the word at school, but parents must officially register their child’s band by filling out THIS GOOGLE FORM. Please note that spots are limited, so don’t wait too long to form your band and sign up!

SILENT AUCTION
We’re looking for silent auction donations — think gift cards, services, sports tickets, spa items, gift baskets, etc. We’d love to highlight local businesses, so if you own one (or know someone who does), we’d love to connect - Send us an email at cgparentcouncil@gmail.com ! If you have items to drop off, Ms. Albert at the front desk can take your donations. See the attached letter for full details and how to contribute.

VOLUNTEERS
We are also looking for more parents to help on the day of. It takes a village. We’re asking that parents sign up in half-hour blocks so we have all parts of the event covered.
