Principal's Message
We had a wonderful time today! Our students had lots of fun decorating their gingerbread houses and shopping for their families at the Convent Glen Christmas Store. Many thanks to our supportive school council for supplying the gingerbread houses, graham crackers, plates, and icing, and for organizing/hosting the Christmas Store. Thank you as well to parents who visited the school to assist with their child’s gingerbread house and who donated items for the store. We also appreciate all the volunteers for helping with the Christmas Store and the Book Fair, which was a great success again this year. It takes a village to organize these special events for our students!
Thank you as well to our school community for the donation of gift cards for families in need. Many families in our area will be benefiting from your generosity!
Our staff and students have been hard at work preparing for the Christmas Concert! We look forward to seeing the talents of our students on Wednesday, December 17th. A friendly reminder that the concert times are 10:00 am (kindergarten to grade 6 classes - except the K3 class) and at 1:45 pm (grades 1 - 6 only). Parking will be available in our school yard on this day only from 9:30 am - 11:45 am and from 1:15 - 3:20 pm. For the safety of our students, it is important that parents remove their cars from our school yard promptly after the morning and afternoon Christmas concert so that students may safely enjoy lunch recess and have a safe end of day dismissal. Furthermore, we kindly request that audience members stay for the entire concert so that the classes at the end of the concert have an audience to appreciate their hard work. As well, all students are to stay in their classroom during the concert when they are not performing due to seating and room capacity. Note that all students will have an opportunity to enjoy the concert on the afternoon of December 16th during our dress rehearsal.
As this will be our last newsletter for the 2025 year, on behalf of myself and the staff of Convent Glen Catholic School, we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the new year. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on Monday, January 5, 2026!
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Dear Convent Glen Families,
We hope you are doing well. We have some exciting news to share with you about a wonderful opportunity for our school choir.
Our talented student choir has been invited to perform the National Anthem at an Ottawa 67's hockey game! The choir will get to sing in front of about 4,000 cheering fans at TD Place in Lansdowne on Friday, January 30th at 7:00 PM. What an amazing experience this will be for our young singers and school community!
This event is a great fundraising opportunity for our school. Family members can buy tickets to the performance and game. Tickets are available to purchase on School Cash Online starting this evening for $26 each, which is cheaper than purchasing tickets online. For every ticket sold, $5 will go directly back to our school, making this an amazing fundraising opportunity! Any money raised will go towards various school enhancements.
What's Included
Each choir student will receive a complimentary ticket to the game. Our school will have our own special section (Section 27) where families can sit together. After singing the anthem, please come to get your child from the singing area to watch the rest of the game together. Once the anthem has finished, there is no staff supervision. Feel free to sit anywhere in section 27.
Please note that transportation to and from TD Place will need to be arranged by each family. The venue is located at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa, which has parking available.
We are so excited about this opportunity for our choir students to shine! Thank you for supporting our choir program and helping make these special experiences possible for our students.
If your child will attend the event, please cut and fill out the slip below and have your child return it to school before Friday December 12th, 2025 to any choir leader.
Sincerely,
Sarah Lepindea, Monique Guillouzic and Karenne Cormier
