Grade 3 students & Grade 6 students will write from June 2nd - 8th. Please avoid scheduling any appointments during the school day on these days.
June Highlights from the OCSB
Sacred Heart of Jesus Month: How beautiful is the steadfast love of Christ! June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart. The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost. In addition to the liturgical celebration, many devotional exercises are connected with the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Of all devotions, devotion to the Sacred Heart was, and remains, one of the most widespread and popular in the Church.
National Indigenous Month: It is a time to recognize the rich history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis. We honour the history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous peoples in Canada!
Pride Month: We are all wonderfully made! Every person is created in the likeness of God. As God as taught us, we are all created in his image and likeness, and it is our responsibility to provide our students with a safe and inclusive learning environment that reflects God’s love and grace. We care for our students’ well being, their safety & sense of belonging which leads to the best spiritual, educational, and mental health outcomes
Our goal continues to be one of inclusivity to ensure that all of our students feel welcome, respected, and free from harassment and discrimination when they enter our schools. We are committed to continuing to find ways within our schools to show by our action that students are accepted and loved within our Catholic school system.
School Council updates
Hi families,
Our Year-End BBQ & Family Fun Day is this Thursday! Come join us on Thursday, June 4th, from 5:00–7:00 PM in the school yard. We are so excited to celebrate the end of an amazing school year together!
This year’s event is all about families participating together. Thanks to a special grant focused on parent engagement, this won’t be a “sit and watch” kind of evening — it’s a jump-in, move, laugh, and make-memories-with-your-kids kind of night. We will have obstacle courses, gymnastics, zumba, basketball, soccer, yoga and much more! We hope parents will participate alongside their children throughout the event!
Here is all the critical information and schedule for the evening:
What to bring:
Lawn chairs or blankets
Cash for raffle tickets and extra concession snacks
Comfortable clothing you can move in
Important Notes:
Arrival: Please do not arrive before 5pm. Volunteers will be setting up the event. If your child is performing an AirBand routine, please do not arrive any later than 5:15
Parking: Please absolutely zero triple parking or parking in the emergency exit. We will have first responders at the event who will need to exit the parking lot. Cars may be towed. Extra parking is available on St. Mortiz.
Schedule:
5:00–5:15 PM | Arrival & Food
5:15–5:45 PM | Eat & Explore & Air Bands
5:45 - 6:00 PM | Yoga & Zumba – Set 1
6:00 - 6:15 PM | Explore & Speeches

WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS
If you can spare even 30 minutes during the event, please consider volunteering. We need more parents' help during the second half of the event.. CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP AS A VOLUNTEER
COOLER DONATIONS
Have an extra cooler you no longer use? We would happily take it off your hands! Please connect with us or drop it off at the front office.
We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you and kick off summer together with a fun-filled evening of food, activities, music, movement, and community!
See you June 4th! Feel free to email us with any questions cgparentcouncil@gmail.com
