Principal's Message
It was a great week this week at Convent Glen. Please ensure your children are coming to school with proper outerwear for rain/snow/cold weather. The temperatures are getting colder and we go outside for recesses even in light rain.
Undercover Spirit Week
The staff organized an Undercover Spirit Week this week, to see whether students would notice the hidden daily themes. This collaborative effort by staff provided a fun and engaging opportunity for students to see the staff working together in a unique way. By Thursday, a lot of students were catching on, prompting an invitation for them to make a list of the themes they had spotted throughout the week. Many students submitted correct guesses. Monday - all staff wore black, Tuesday - wearing scarves, Wednesday - mismatched shoes, and Thursday(everyone's favourite) - anything but a cup day.
Stick With the Truth
As part of our 2024/2025 Equity Goal, Aubrey Noronoha from Hellohope.ca presented to our Grade K-3 & Grade 4-6 Students in a presentation called "Stick With The Truth". Please talk to your child about these presentations. The three truths that we all learned about was that skin colours are many, skin colours are beautiful, and skin colours are kin colours. Finally, students learned that we are all part of one human family and that we are here to support each other.
Remembrance Day
We will be commemorating Remembrance Day on Tuesday November 11th at 10:45 am. Parents are welcome to attend. Students who are in Scouts or Girl Guides may choose to wear their uniform to school.
Progress Reports and Parent Educator Conferences
The Initial Communication of Learning for Kindergarten and the Progress Reports (Gr. 1-6) will be available through the Parent Portal after 5:00 pm on Thursday November 13th. Teachers will begin contacting parents to schedule conferences which will take place between 4:00 and 8:00 pm on Thursday Nov. 20th
Convent Glen Safe Schools team
We are looking for a parent volunteer to be a member of our Convent Glen Safe Schools Team. Having a Safe and Accepting School Team reflects the diversity of our school community. It is our responsibility to foster a safe, inclusive and accepting school shared by all school community members. The key role of this team is to provide advice about school safety to the administration.
We will be meeting 3 times per school year, either at 8:30am or over lunch hour.
The Role of our Safe and Accepting School Team would be to plan and assist with a whole school approaches or projects that would be most responsive to Convent Glen School communities’ unique needs. If you are interested please email traci.nehme@ocsb.ca
Wishing you a wonderful weekend with your friends and family.
God Bless

Grade 4 Bible Ceremony
When: Tuesday November 25th, 2025
at 1:30 pm (Learning Commons)
Dear Family Members,
Our students are preparing for an important part of their spiritual journey; gaining a closer relationship with Jesus by reading about His life and teachings through the Bible.
An important part of your child’s journey will be the gift of his/her own personal Bible. This special gift, kindly purchased by our Convent Glen Catholic School Council, will be presented to our grade fours at an informal ceremony on Friday October 25th with Father Martin. The ceremony will take place at our school in the Learning Commons at 1:30 p.m. You are invited to attend.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Lepindea, Mme. Gauthier and Ms. Horsford
