Seesaw is a great tool for differentiating learning!
Teachers will each get a login in their folder. They can access it at www.web.seesaw.me Students login with a QR code.
It is a digital portfolio that is free to teachers and all teachers up to Grade 6 will have access to it. Students can upload pictures, then label and record over them, they can create drawings and label and record over them, they can upload files from other apps such as Keynote or Chatterkid and save it there. The possibilities are endless for Seesaw.
The app is already loaded on iPads.
It is great for students to do sight word hunts and take a picture then record themselves saying the word (this is great if you are trying to assess their sight words instead of having to sit with them you can stick them around the classroom and then have them search it out and do this!)
They can go on scavenger hunts in Saulteaux looking for examples of new vocabulary, taking pictures of it and recording themselves saying it.
If they are showing number recognition in place value, they can draw their thinking out and then record themselves explaining their thinking! Check out more ideas for uses of this app in Curriculum Connections.
