**A digital world language lab will be utilized by students to practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in target language.**

An integral part of our World Language program is a full digital lab where students can practice auditory and visual language skills. Students will listen to and record conversations for playback to build speaking and listening skills. Assessments may be taken in both oral and written format. The digital format also allows for individualization of lessons where students can work on language skills specific to their needs. Students are expected to maintain their computer privileges in order to utilize the digital laboratory.

College or University Requirements: Some universities award retroactive credits for high school foreign language coursework. Upon earning the required grade in the college course designated by the college placement test, a student may receive retroactive credits designated by that college for high school coursework. The number of awarded retroactive credits may vary among colleges, and universities.

If the student continues the World Language study in college for college degree purposes, a proficiency test is usually administered by the college to advise the student on the appropriate language course placement at the university.

Many colleges prefer that applicants have a World Language as a part of their high school curriculum, but to determine if it is a requirement for admission, students must see the college catalogue or speak to an admissions officer. Regardless of what the requirement is for college admission, some college majors require two years of a single World Language to satisfy college graduation requirements.

NOTE → Native speakers from immersion schools who want to test out of a beginning level world language class will need to pass an exam in the last week of the previous school year to advance to the next level.
