Alternative Education

Credits earned through KLASS at OCHS or from Connects Learning Center may include titles that are not listed in this guide book. These are credit recovery programs that offer courses/credits that will meet graduation requirements. Enrollment is by counselor recommendation only.

Bridge Program:

  • Sophomores and Semester 2 Freshman
  • Counselor recommendation and Parent-student interview required for admission to the program.
  • Support in core content area courses.

Sophomore Bridge:

  • 3 -hour Block plus Advisory (block includes a Guided Study period)
  • Credit earned for participation in the program
    • Math credit
    • Social Studies (US History) Credit
    • Elective Credit
  • Summer School attendance may be required

Freshman Bridge:

  • 2 Hour Block - Elective and Guided Study period
  • Support in core content area classes
  • Elective Credit earned for participation in the program

KLASS:

Students enrolled in the KLASS Program use the Odysseyware On-line Education Program as an alternative to traditional classroom learning. All course offerings are school board approved and align to Wisconsin's Model Academic Standards.

The KLASS Program is staffed with certified Alternative Education instructors and is an opportunity for OCHS students to recover missing credits at an accelerated rate, allowing them a chance to graduate with their class.

    • Juniors and Seniors
    • Counselor recommendation and application process required
    • Summer school attendance may be required
    • 2-hour Block and 1-hour Block (dependent on credit deficiency)
    • Replaces a Study Hall in Student Schedule.
    • Credit recovery

Connects Learning center:

  • Seniors
  • Counselor recommendation, application and interview required
  • Summer School attendance may be required
  • 1/2 Day at Connects and the other 1/2 day at OCHS
  • More than a Credit Recovery Program
