  1. Go directly to Canvas here - https://ocon.instructure.com/

OR

  1. Go to the OASD District Website and use the Quicklink there.

OR

  1. Log into Chrome from a personal computer with a student account and then access Classlink and Canvas from the student bookmarks.

Zoom

Zoom Performance Issues - see the Chromebook Issues or iPad Issues pages

Teachers will place a link to Zoom meetings in Canvas. Students should not set up a Zoom account.

Students will need to be admitted by teachers when they join the meeting. Please email your teacher if they are not admitting you into the meeting. The helpdesk has no access to assist with students in the waiting room of a meeting.

Overall Zoom Chromebook Troubleshooting

  • Connect the charger to the Chromebook. Do not run on battery if possible.

  • Sign out if you are logged in, select the Shutdown button and power on the Chromebook before each Zoom meeting. This frees up the memory so maximum Chromebook resources are available for the Zoom meeting.

  • Close Chrome browser tabs not being used. Only have browser tabs open that are necessary for your class work while using Zoom.

  • Position yourself as close to the router as possible to increase network reliability.

  • Try a test Zoom meeting here: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/115002262083-Joining-a-Test-Meeting

  • Zoom needs 2.0 Mb per device of Upload Speed. Test your network speed here: https://www.att.com/support/speedtest

  • If possible, limit other streaming on the network while connected to Zoom.

  • Adjust your microphone volume to prevent feedback or increase volume.

  • Disable Bluetooth if not using.

  • Perform a Chromebook Reset.

I'm having audio issues on Zoom.

How to configure your audio/video on Zoom.

I have pixellated picture and/or poor audio in Zoom sessions.

Make sure the Chromebook is running as efficiently as possible:

*See list above

I’m having problems with the audio on Zoom on my iPad.

Hold down the Home button and Top/Power Button until you see the Apple Logo. Release the buttons and the iPad will restart.

If that does not resolve the issue, click here for Speaker and/or Microphone issues on Zoom.

When I access Zoom, Google Meet, etc or anything that requires a camera it does not work. I can hear the audio and see the other person, but they cannot see him. The error message says, "Camera not available".

Camera issues occur on specific websites:

  1. Go to the website

  2. Click the security icon (lock) to the left of the URL in the address bar.

  3. Click site settings

  4. Next to Camera click Allow

Camera issues occur on all website:

  1. Open the Chrome web browser

  2. Click the chrome menu icon (3 vertical dots) at the top right of screen

  3. Select Settings

  4. Under Privacy and Security, click Site Settings

  5. Click Camera

  6. Next to Ask Before Accessing, click the slider to turn it on

If adjusting the settings doesn't work:

Reset the Chromebook

Seesaw

My child is not able to respond to the activities the teacher assigned in Seesaw.

There are 2 Seesaw Apps: Parent/Family and Class. Students need to be using the SeeSaw Class App in order to post on activities.

We are getting an error in SeeSaw about our Internet Connection or our Firewall. All other sites work as expected.

Type chrome://settings/siteData in the URL bar and search for SeeSaw in the upper right of that screen. Delete all entries for SeeSaw and restart your browser.

Getting the following in Seesaw:

On an iOS device, we recommend using the SeeSaw Student Learning App, rather than clicking through Classlink. Once you have the app, choose “I’m a Student” and then enter the text or QR code that your teacher gave you.

Epic

We are trying to access the digital books on Epic and can’t get logged in, or can only log in sometimes.

Typically, Epic only allows for student use during the school day. During this Virtual Learning time, however, they have opened up access beyond the school day. Check with your teacher for the joining information.
