Use the steps below to share video from your computer or website using the Screen Share tool in the Zoom application. For visual instructions, click on the slide presentation to the right.
Connect to the NYU wireless network from your laptop or other mobile device. Choose the network labelled "NYU" and enter your NYU Home login credentials when prompted. For older devices, choose the "NYU Legacy" network if the "NYU" network does not work.
Open the Zoom desktop application on your computer. Click "Sign In". (If you don't have the Zoom desktop application on your computer, download and install it first).
Click the SSO button below the email and password fields.
Enter “nyu” in the company domain field. Then click "Continue".
In the next window, log into your NYU account with your netID and password.
In the next window, follow the instructions for multi-factor authentication.
After completing the authentication step, the Zoom application should be open on your computer.
Click the Share Screen button.
If you don’t see the share button, click the Home button in the navigation bar.
Your computer may automatically connect to the room system and begin screen sharing at this point.
However, if prompted for a Sharing Key, enter the key that appears on the room tv monitor/screen.
If you don’t see a Sharing Key on the room screen, go to the Zoom Control Panel (the triangular box with the small panel) and click “Share Screen” in the main menu. Then click “Desktop”.
The sharing key will appear on the Zoom panel screen (and it should also appear on the projection screen in the room).
Enter the key on your computer. This should activate screen sharing and your laptop screen should now be in view on the classroom monitor.
