NYU Stream now incorporates Annoto, a social video annotation tool that enables students to add text or video annotations to videos directly from within the Brightspace learning environment. Like VoiceThread (described below) Annoto enables viewers to post comments and facilitates disussions that are linked to specific points of the video. Unlike VoiceThread, Annoto also allows users to create personal notes for their own use throughout the video. VoiceThread is an asynchronous multimedia discussion and assignment tool that allows users to contribute “posts” around a central piece of content, using voice recording, webcam recordings, annotation, and more to engage with content and each other. VoiceThread can be used for:
