Class of 2022, 2024
Bachelors in Instrumental Performance;
Masters in Instrumental Performance
1. Are there any specific projects or performances you participated in that you are particularly proud of?
In June I had the wonderful opportunity to play with the Golden Gate Symphony Orchestra and Chorus on their tour to Switzerland. The conductor is originally from a small town on the Swiss/German border and it was his dream to bring a full symphony orchestra to a region where most people would never have the chance to see a symphony performance in their life. It was so fulfilling to play Beethoven's 9th symphony in the mountains and connect with musicians from all around the world who helped bring this project to life.
2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
In 5 years I see myself as a successful gigging musician still living in New York but also traveling for work. I love playing all different styles of music from classical to indie pop to musical theater and see myself having the perfect balance of all different kinds of gigs.
3. What advice would you give to other students?
My biggest piece of advice is to connect with your classmates. The people that I have found myself working with in the professional world are primarily people I met at NYU (some I've known since I was a freshmen). I know it sounds cliché to say 'network' but it is truly one of the most important things to do while you're in school.
