Class of 2023
Bachelors in Instrumental Performance
1. Are there any specific projects or performances you participated in that you are particularly proud of?
There have been so many projects that I have been participated in that I'm so proud to have been a part of, but I think my favorite by far was "Soundcake: Aural Confections by Sapphira Cristál and Monét X Change" at Lincoln Center this past June to kick off pride month and Lincoln Center's Summer in the Park series. I'm super grateful to NYU conducting faculty David Bloom for asking me to be in the orchestra for this once in a lifetime concert at Lincoln Center with three of my favorite drag artists and that evening was something I will never forget.
2. Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I would love to be working full time in both marketing and as a musician on Broadway. It's always been a dream of mine to play on Broadway since I was a young kid, and since graduating I've been working in digital marketing for Chamber Music America and it's become something I've become really passionate about and interested in. To be able to combine these two interests of mine would be a dream come true.Buckle in and enjoy the ride. At times when you feel at your lowest, remember why you decided to go into music.
3. What advice would you give to other students?
My biggest piece of advice is to connect with your classmates. The people that I have found myself working with in the professional world are primarily people I met at NYU (some I've known since I was a freshmen). I know it sounds cliché to say 'network' but it is truly one of the most important things to do while you're in school.
