Biography
I am currently enrolled in the Taiwan International Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Neuroscience, pursuing a Ph.D. at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and Academia Sinica, both located in Taiwan. My academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Physiology from the University of Ilorin in Nigeria, which I completed in 2017. Subsequently, I obtained an M.Sc. in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from the University of Ibadan, also in Nigeria, in 2021. Following this, I held positions as a Medical Representative at Phillips Pharmaceuticals (Nigeria) Limited and as an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Medical Sciences in Ondo, Nigeria. From 2019 to 2023, my research delved into the impact of NMDA and dopamine D2 receptors dysfunctions on neuronal circuitry, along with oxido-proinflammatory signaling in schizophrenia. Building upon the insights gained during this timeframe, my doctoral research, commencing in 2024, aims to further elucidate the impact of various regulatory elements on the brain's functioning in both health and neuropsychiatric disorders. This includes an exploration of interneuronal dynamics and their influence on cognitive and affective (endo)phenotypes. To achieve this, I will employ a comprehensive multimodal neuroscience approach, employing techniques such as electrophysiology, optogenetics, chemogenetics, calcium imaging, fiber photometry, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and single-cell RNA sequencing.
