Biography

I received my Ph.D. degree in neuroscience from National Yang-Ming University in 2010. After one year’s military service, I worked in Lien Lab as a postdoctoral fellow. When I was a graduate student, I focused on the subunit expression and functional properties of    acid-sensing ion channels (ASICs) in hippocampal interneurons by combining electrophysiological recording and single-cell RT-PCR. We found that both the subunit composition and functional properties of the ASICs are cell-type specific in hippocampal interneurons.

Recently, single-cell voltage imaging has drawn my attention. I am currently establishing relevant setups and skills. Single-cell voltage imaging provides us with an extraordinary opportunity to detect the changes of membrane potential at the subcellular domain, which is difficult to be accessed by patch-clamp recording. We believe that voltage imaging technique will be helpful for understanding information processing in neurons.
