Welcome to seventh grade and Team Roar! I hope you are ready to embark on your second year at the middle school.
The 2025-2026 school year will be my eleventh (WOW!) as a teacher at NWLMS but my tenth year as a 7th grade teacher on Team Roar! My first two years on Team Roar, I taught only Language Arts for our team, however, I now teach Social Studies and one section of Language Arts. This means some of you will be in my classroom TWICE A DAY. Before joining Team Roar, I started at NWLMS as the Science teacher on the Pathfinder team.
That, however, was not my first experience here at NWLMS. I was a student at the middle school! I was a student in the Northwestern Lehigh School District from kindergarten through twelfth grade. I attended Weisenberg Elementary before moving on to the Middle School and, later, the High School. I loved it and loved all my teachers! So much so that I leapt at the chance to come back as a teacher.
Over the course of the year you will learn a lot about me, but here are some things to get started. I graduated from Northwestern Lehigh High School (Go Tigers!) in 2010. From there, I went to Penn State University (We Are!) in State College, PA where I completed my college education in 2014. In the Spring of 2020, I completed my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State World Campus. Even though I am not officially taking classes at the moment, I am still learning every day, and, who knows, there might be another degree coming soon!
I have many hobbies and interests. I am huge sports fan. I love all Philadelphia sports including the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Sixers. I am also a huge Northwestern Tigers, Penn State Nittany Lions, and Villanova Wildcats basketball fan. In my free time I love to read, watch my favorite sports teams, go to concerts, visit friends, travel, golf, and spend time with my large extended family. You will probably hear many stories about them throughout the year.
I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. I come from a long line of teachers, one of my great-grandmothers even taught in a one-room school house! I can't wait to get to know all of my students. We will have so much fun exploring and growing in all aspects of Language Arts and/or Social Studies together, but I also want to learn about you as well. Tell me about your favorite book, the games you watched (or played in), where you have traveled, or even what you did over the weekend. This is going to be a great year and I can't wait to get started!
The "suite" life at Beaver Stadium!
We Are... Penn State!!
My sister, Jaime, and I in the Penn State student section (the best student section in the country!). We are two of many Penn State alumni in our extended family.
Exploring the "Blue Hole" in Bermuda. (Notice the NW Tiger gear circa 2009)
My family and I were lucky enough to go to Hawaii in the summer of 2019. Not only was it a fantastic vacation, but I also learned SO much! My favorite was learning how to say the name of the state fish of Hawaii, humuhumunukunukuapua'a. It is quite a tongue twister!
I wish we could take a field trip there :)
The beautiful Waikiki Beach on the island of Oahu. The water was unbelievably blue!
Hawaii is home to the monk seal, a highly endangered species. We were lucky enough to see one napping on the island of Kauai.
We went snorkeling at Hanauma Bay on Oahu. We got there at 6:30 am, but it was worth it!
