What will you see in the Gradebook?

Blank: This assignment has been assigned but isn’t due and hasn’t been completed yet. Don’t worry! :)

Abs: Student was absent and still has time to make up this assignment. Don’t worry! :) But also don’t forget!

Ex: Student is excused from this assignment. You will only see this in extraordinary circumstances on a 1:1 basis.

I: Student has NOT completed this assignment (and should have!). This will count as a zero in gradebook. However, the unit has not ended yet and they still have time to complete it (OUTSIDE of class) and turn it in. Get it in ASAP!

Zero: It is the end of the unit. Students are taking or have already taken the test for this unit. The timeframe for the unit has ended and you may no longer turn the assignment in. Don’t let this happen! :(

OTHER GRADING INFO

Lunch and After School Help

  • Extra help is always available! Plan ahead and schedule on a 1:1 basis. This is sometimes mandatory based on student behavior and progress.

Reassessment

  • Reassessment is available on almost all practice and application grades, within the unit timeframe. A formal, student-initiated and student-led retake opportunity will be offered for summative, end of unit assessments.

Late Work

  • Work must be turned in within the assignment time frame or a zero will be entered.

Makeup Work

  • If you miss class, YOU are responsible for making sure you make up all work and get caught up. Check your Google Classroom, The Science Weekly Slides (in Google Classroom under the topic for that week), and the Team ROAR Homework/Announcements Page. You can even ask a friend. You should also check in with Miss Smith to ensure you didn’t miss anything that couldn’t be found in any of those locations. Don't fall behind when you are absent...be proactive and stay on top of your assignments! :)
