Track & Field Jumps Coach
Coach Primo Ramos began coaching high school sports after retiring with over twenty (20) years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Coach Primo Initially started his coaching career at Downtown College Prep (DCP) as the girls basketball coach. He would go on to also coach the boys and girls cross country teams.
In the Spring of 2006, Coach Primo Ramos accepted the position of Athletic Director at Latino College Preparatory Academy (LCPA). The responsibility assigned was to organize and develop the sports programs at LCPA. He served in this capacity for five years, and also served as the PSAL league representative to the CCS Board of Managers. He removed himself from the role of athletic director, but stayed at LCPA to coach the cross country and the track and field teams until 2023.
Coach Primo began the organization and the development of cross country and track & field as a competitive sport for the Private School Athletic Leauge (PSAL). He was also help organizing the PSAL boys and girls soccer to compete in the winter season. Coach Primo's efforts were instramental in allowing PSAL participants the opportunity to compete at CCS and State.
Coach Primo coached the LCPA cross country teams for seventeen years. Cross country league championships were not recorded at LCPA, but two banners exist at the LCPA school. Individual league champions occurred with one in 2008 (girls), and two in 2009, one boys and one girls. In 2007 Coach primo had one girl advanced to the CIF State Championships. In 2010 LCPA had their first boy athete advance to the CIF State Finals, and again in 2012 and 2018.
In 2014 Coach Primo began the first track & field team at LCPA. In 2014, the girls team won the first PSAL Track and Field Championship. Since then, LCPA had a number of track and field athletes advance to the CCS in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Coach Primo is a United States Veteran, and served in the military with the United States Marine Corp. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from California Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California. He has also received a Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies from the Northern California Bible College. Coach Primo is married (Karen), and has two adult children, Eric and Michael, and one grandson, Dominic.
