In preparation for the upcoming season, the Nueva Cross Country team will highlight its summer traveling to Mammoth Lakes, California for the purpose of high elevation conditioning training, development of individual and team goals, and team building. In the natural surroundings of the Inyo National Forest, athletes of all abilities will be challenged by miles of trails and dirt roads through the back country. Runs are organized by the ability and the conditioning background of each individual athlete. Each training run emphasizes specific training goals, such as aerobic capacity, speed, hills, the importance of recovery and more. Athletes will also have an opportunity to meet and have a Q & A with Olympic Bronze Medalist, Deena Kastor, along all the other elite members of the Mammoth Track Club! In order to attend running camp, athletes must participate in a minimum of 50% of summer practices (14 of 29 practices) OR meet the following minimum qualifying standards prior to running camp: New Athletes: 45 minutes of continuous running Returning Girls: 6 miles in 51:00 (New Adjusted Mark - 8:30 pace) Returning Boys: 6 miles in 48:00 (New Adjusted Mark - 8:00 pace) This allows the coaching staff the ability to evaluate each athlete prior to running camp.
Note:Individuals qualifying on time for 6 miles must achieve performance in presence of coaches.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Athletes must register for running camp no later than Friday, July 11, 2025. Late registrations will be accepted only if space becomes available.
TRANSPORTATION:
Athletes will be transported to and from via coach/chaperone driven school vans. The team will depart from and return to the Nueva San Mateo Campus.
CHAPERONES:
Running Camp will be chaperoned by team coaches and school administration /staff
Cost for this trip is $575.00. Families on finacial assistance will receive the same percentage of assistance towards the cost of camp. Families will be billed by the business office for the cost of camp.
Included in the price of this trip are the following:

FINAL INFORMAITON:
Final information will be sent out late June/early July with finalized tripitinerary, lodging assignments, chaperones/drivers, etc.
