Sam Cordingley | General Manager Professional Rugby, QLD Reds
A renowned and respected scumhalf with more than 50-caps for Queensland and 23 Tests for Australia, Sam has 10 years of corporate sector experience after making the transition from 'player to staff' in 2012 when he was appointed General Manager of Rugby for the Melbourne Rebels.
Following two years in the Victorian capital, Cordingley returned to Ballymore as the General Manager of Rugby Operations for the Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) in 2014, before becoming Head of List Management and Pathways two years later.
In 2017 Cordingley was appointed General Manager of Professional Rugby overseeing the entire Queensland Reds football department which under his guidance has seen the Reds secure three-straight Super Rugby Finals appearance (2020, 2021, 2022), as well as Queensland claiming their first championship in a decade after winning the 2021 Super Rugby AU title.
Cordingley is currently a member of the QRU Senior Executive team, plus a Board Member for the Rugby Union Players' Association (RUPA) Agent Accreditation Board and also a High-Performance Panel Member for Rugby Australia.

Sam will be assisting Dale with an on-field training session using the Reds academy players to give us an insight into the content/ timings/ intensity/ feedback/ and flow of an Academy standard training session. Sam will also sit on a Q & A panel on Saturday night to give us some insight into his experiences coaching Nudgee 15As this year, and what we can be doing as coaches to help progress our Youth Athletes into the Academy pathways.
