Gemini for Education and NotebookLM are now available to all faculty, staff, and students. These tools are provided with enterprise-grade data protections, ensuring your intellectual property and institutional data remain secure. In addition, GEM creation and GEM sharing is enabled.

You can access these tools through AccessUH by clicking on the Google Workspace Icon and using your CougarNet login. After you enter Google Workspace Plus, click on the ellipsis of 9 dots in the upper right-hand corner. You will find Gemini on the second row, and Notebook LM near the bottom. A tutorial is available online.

Simple Syllabus is a centralized, template-driven platform that enables instructors to quickly personalize and publish interactive class syllabi.

Starting Fall 2025, Syllabi for all courses (with specific exceptions) are required by state law to be posted in Simple Syllabus. For more information about Simple Syllabus and tutorials, please click on the following link: Instruction@UH - Simple Syllabus.

We're embracing artificial intelligence at UH! Join the AI and ChatGPT User Group and connect with the community. This is an excellent platform to discover more about AI and exchange ideas on integrating it into instruction and research. To become a member, search for "AI and ChatGPT" in TEAMS or email Teresa Acosta to request an invite. Additionally, the AI and ChatGPT blog offers a chance for you to share your insights on AI. If you wish to submit your work for review, please send your Word or .txt document to fdis@uh.edu.

Before you send an Outlook email message or share a Word document, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation, or OneNote notebook, run the Accessibility Checker to make your content easier for people to read and edit. 

As AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude AI become more widely used,  Instructors are encouraged to take advantage of the Turnitin AI writing detection tool to help supplement their discussions with students about AI use in the classroom.
