Canvas is the exclusive LMS (Learning Management System) for the UH main campus.
Option 1:
If you have a Windows PC, you could use the Respondus application to print the test to an MS document. Please follow the steps below:
Option 2:
Since Respondus is for Windows only, the following tutorial shows an alternative that also works for macOS users:
Use either Safari or Chrome browser to print a test with multiple pages. Firefox print option does not work using these instructions.
Go to your Canvas course.
In the Quizzes section, locate the test/quiz you want to print.
Select Preview Mode. This opens the test in the "student view" with the questions and answer entry area listed.
In the browser options, locate the print option (File > Print)
Using the browser's print options, you can either print directly to a printer or save the print output as a PDF.
Note:
If the test is set to open one question at a time, then the print option will only print the one question. To print the entire test, set the test options to show the entire test by ensuring the "Show one question at a time" option is not selected, then print the test. You can reset the test options to how you want the students to see the test.
New Quizzes allows printing quiz questions and quiz questions with the answer key. New Quizzes can be printed to a printer or a Word document. You could convert your Classic Quiz to a New Quiz to print the quiz. For more information about converting a Classic Quiz to a New Quiz, see this Canvas Guide. How do I migrate a Canvas quiz to New Quizzes?
See this Canvas guide for how to print a New Quizzes quiz (exam) with questions and possible answers that are used by a student. How to print a new quizzes with questions and answers.
Contact the CASA managers (either Minh Nguyen or Samantha Stark) and provide them with the following information about the test: instructor and course details, testing dates or a date range, number of students, and any other special instructions.
The CASA managers will indicate the availability of their testing locations and provide you with the IP address or addresses to use in Canvas. If the center is not available during the requested dates, they will try to accommodate you on other available dates. Learn the testing center requirements for scheduling requests.
Once CASA confirms availability for the requested dates, instructors can set up a Canvas test that requires students to use the LockDown Browser. Visit the following tutorials for information:

If you have any questions, contact your College IDs or fdis@uh.edu.
Use the following checklist to ensure the Respondus Lockdown Browser appears as required for a test in Canvas. Configuration for a Blackboard test in the CASA testing center.
To confirm that an assessment will require students to use Respondus LockDown Browser, open a standard web browser, log into Canvas using a student account, and attempt to start the assessment. You should not be able to start the assessment if everything is configured correctly.
To confirm that an assessment is set up correctly, start Respondus LockDown Browser, log in to Canvas using a student account, and then start the assessment.
Provide students with the link below to download and install the Respondus LockDown Browser for their computers. After installation, students may also need to update the LockDown Browser. To do so, log in and click the small “i” (for information) and check for the latest updates. Students should periodically check for browser updates.
If students are taking a test in the CASA Testing Center:
It is highly recommended that all students register with CASA and schedule their test in their Courseware account as soon as the online scheduler is available. This will help them avoid peak times and maximize their chances of getting a reservation.
New students will need to register their photo and FingerPrint prior to checking in at the CASA Tutoring Center. This is a ONE TIME process at CASA Testing Center.

The navigation Lockdown Browser link is intentionally configured as an instructor-only dashboard as it is meant for instructors (it opens the Respondus dashboard to configure exams). Students typically don’t need that menu link; they open LockDown Browser (LDB) on their computer and follow the process to take a test.
