Digital Literacy and E-safety plays an increasingly more powerful role in our everyday lives, and it is important that our young people are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to conduct themselves safely online, and offline.
Digital literacy refers to the resources we use online, whether it be social media, search engines, online banking, games, emails as well as a plethora of other tools. Built into our curriculum are lessons that support and prepare pupils for using these tools sensibly. They also help pupils to consider how they behave online, the consequences of their online activity on their offline lives, and the risks involved when using the internet and electronic devices.
At Scarning, we follow the Project Evolve curriculum which is broken into 8 key strands and designed for our modern world. They are: -Self-Image and Identity-Managing Online Relationships-Online Reputations-Online Bullying-Managing Online Information-Health Wellbeing and Lifestyle-Privacy and Security-Copyright and Ownership
