MYP Fieldtrips - grades 7 and 9
This week, on Wednesday (November 5), and Friday (November 7), two of our MYP cohorts will engage in meaningful field trips related to the respective units of study for their Individuals and Societies classes. Grade 9 students (November 5 trip), together with their IaS teachers, Mr. Gaetan Hulot and Ms. Bojana Kodjasinska, will visit the archeological site Skupi, as part of their Rise and Fall of Empires unit. Grade 7 students (November 7 trip) will visit the National Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, together with their IaS teachers, Ms. Biljana Markovic, Mr. Brian Faiola, and Ms. Amanda Leavitt, as part of their Civic Responsibility unit. Much thanks to Ms. Biljana Atanasovska, our MYP Coordinator, for organizing the specifics of these two valuable trips.
HOUSES Competition - Decorations and Challenges
The second part of the semester has us focused on creative decorations and community challenges:
Oct. 15 – Nov. 4: Fall Decorations
Nov. 5 – 26: Thanksgiving Challenge – Expressing gratitude to NOVA community members (details to follow)
Dec. 1 – 19: Winter & Christmas Decorations
We look forward to these activities and our students’ creative solutions!
Grade 12 - SEL Counselor
Giovani Gatto will be supporting Grade 12s as SEL Counselor for the period of November 2025 - May 2026. He is a Psychologist from Brazil, specializing in Behavior Therapy and Neuropsychology, focusing on emotion regulation and executive functioning. He will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 12:00 in the Multipurpose Room and throughout November, he plans to meet with all Grade 12 students. We are grateful for his support during this key time for our Grade 12 students!
