Dear Secondary School families,
As we embark on our first week of classes, we would like to keep you informed of key updates. Hence, please be mindful of the following:
School day: 8:15am-14:35pm (on Wednesdays, 8:15am-14:15pm) We ask that students arrive to school on time, no later than 8:05am. The entry protocols ask that they swipe in and out, hence they need to have a valid NOVA ID. Should students or parents/guardians need to have a new card issued, please fill out the following FORM.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): Following the BYOD policy, students should bring with them their device (laptop/tablet), as they would need it for their classes. If students need a device to use while in school, please inform our team ahead of time by completing this FORM.
Student-Parent Handbook (SPH): please review our updated policies (it requires a passkey - NOVA1234)
Student Behavior Matrix (p. 35)
Code of Conduct for Students (p. 34)
Code of Conduct for Parents (pp. 35-26)
Dress Code policy (pp. 40-41)
Attendance and absences (expectations and consequences) (pp. 44-46)
Child Protection policy (p. 53)
Cell (Mobile) Phone policy (pp. 65-66)
Managebac for parents: how to navigate the platform (LINK).
Lower Secondary students (grades 6-8) dismissal numbers: all returning and new confirmed students have been issued a dismissal number, through their Advisory teachers. Should you grant your child the autonomy to return home on their own (home pass form), please make sure you sign and return THIS FORM (copies will be provided to students by their advisory teachers).
On-call substitute teachers: Each year we invite parents to join our pool of on-call substitute teachers, especially if they are available and have a teaching background/experience working in formal education settings. Please use the following FORM to register your interest. Our team would then reach out to schedule an interview.
Grades 9-12: Week Without Walls Program (September 17-19, 2025)
We are happy to report that we are continuing with the Week Without Walls (WWW) co-curricular learning model this fall semester. Our dates for this program are: September 17-19, 2025.
Students - by grade level cohorts, joined by their advisory teachers - would have the chance to experience learning opportunities outside the classroom setting in several different locations. Please take a look at the grade-level travel information:
Grade 9 - location/destination: Shapka (North Macedonia) Details HERE
Grade 10 - location/destination: Krushevo and Bitola (North Macedonia) Details HERE
Grade 11 - location/destination: Tara/Zlatibor (Bosnia and Herzegovina/Serbia) Details HERE
Grade 12 - location/destination: Skopje (North Macedonia) Details HERE
Students who are unable to travel would join the three-day program for the Skopje-based activities, which are also focused on key attributes of the MYP and DP programs, namely creative, active, and service learning. (Grade 9, Grade 10, Grade 11, Grade 12)
The WWW activities will be a part of the students’ school records. Namely, students will be marked as having successfully completed the program. In the event that students do not complete the program, their school record will also reflect that.
Next steps: Please take a moment to review the comprehensive document in terms of registration and payment details: all info HERE.
Registration opens on August 20th, and closes on September 3rd, 2025.
We look forward to having students take part in this co-curricular learning program.
