All students are scheduled through DASL, our electronic scheduling system. Scheduling is done randomly through this system for teams and class periods. If there is a mistake on your student’s schedule, please contact your school counselor. Mistakes include two of the same class (example: two social studies classes), placed into the wrong level of a course (example: needs advanced math, but was placed into regular math), or placed in the incorrect music elective (example: placed in choir, but needs band), etc.
Schedule changes will ONLY be made for the following reasons:
Counselor, parent, teacher and/or administrator agreement that a change is educationally beneficial for the student (core classes)
Only band, choir, or orchestra change requests will be considered within the 10 day timeframe outlined below.
Under these limited circumstances, a student may initiate a schedule adjustment by following the procedure indicated below:
1. The student should obtain a “Schedule Change Request Form” from the counseling center. This form should be properly completed with all required statements and signatures and returned to the appropriate counselor.
2. It is the student’s responsibility to attend the class in question during the period of time that the allowable request is being reviewed by the counselor.
Requests for teacher/team changes will not be considered.
When a student meets the criteria listed above for a schedule change, they are permitted to withdraw from a course no later than the tenth (10th) school day of a yearlong elective course.
